Former Manchester United striker Rio Ferdinand has said he hopes Manchester City will win the English Premier League this season.
Liverpool are at the top of the English Premier League with two points from Citi, but the latter have an extra game that could bring them back to the summit with a point higher.
The Reds aspire to the title for 29 years, Ferdinand hopes to continue this drought due to the fierce hostility between Liverpool and United.
"We have a bad duo competing for the top, so I hope Manchester City win the title," the former Devils defender said.
"Yes, there is enmity with Citi, but Liverpool is another story."
"Their victory in the Premier League will be painful, but in the end we will congratulate the team for the tournament."
The next game for Liverpool after the international stop will be against Tottenham on March 31, while Manchester City play Fulham.
